Dan Onorato is committed to the inclusion of people who have physical, intellectual, behavioral or sensory disabilities and those who advocate and offer services on behalf of people with disabilities. This commitment extends from the design and implementation of human service programming to advocacy for and outreach to people with disabilities. Onorato believes that services should be provided in a manner that promotes independent living, enables people to obtain and maintain employment and supports Pennsylvanians with disabilities in their homes and communities.
More than 1.6 million people in Pennsylvania are living with a disability and many rely on public services to assist them with their housing, transportation, education and employment needs. People with disabilities represent over 13% of Pennsylvania’s population and include over 800,000 working-aged adults.
As Governor, Dan Onorato will ensure that state government understands and addresses the needs of people with cross-disabilities and recognizes their contributions to strengthening our communities.
